Another fun ditty to get into the spirit of the evening …..

The new Metallica album is nice. FYI I liked Death Magnetic.

Fuck yea! Mine just arrived today. I have nothing to listen to the cassette on, but I don't care. So far I think my favorite song is Shadows Follow. It has an AJFA meets Load vibe. It's so grimy heavy. I've heard a lot of negative comments on the album, but I think listening to it more and more that it actually is a bit more experimental than some are giving credit to. You can see where Kirk and Robert were able to contribute to the album, when it's usually a Lars and James affair. This is pretty obvious watching the creation of the Hardwired album. Most of the time Kirk isn't around during the brainstorming phases and seeing Robert is pretty hit or miss. It's definitely more in the Black Album through ReLoad vibe which I think I venture into because ReLoad and Load were my first two albums. Just for a bit of my opinion of Metallica I think that And Justice for All is the best overall album they've ever done, but my absolute favorite Metallica song is Seek & Destroy. I think this album rocks.

Man, sorry I missed your reply.
My first album was the Black Album, so my favorite stuff from them is the "newer shit", though of course I like the first 4 albums too. Sleepwalk My Life Away is my favorite song right now from 72 Seasons. I see (hear) what you mean in terms of the contributions from Kirk and Robert, I actually like when artist experiment, knowing that there will be flops. Overall I like it, but for now I still prefer Death Magnetic. Favorite song from me would be really hard, but to give a top 5: Wherever I May Roam, Enter Sandman, All Nightmare Long, One, Master of Puppets, No Leaf Clover, King Nothing (shit I got 8
).
I really dig a couple of covers from Garage Inc: Turn the Page, Die, Die My Darling, Whiskey in the Jar, Tuesday's Gone.

Took my daughter to see Dave Matthews for her first concert as her 9th birthday present. A friend gave me his box seats, and then we ended up in the Sky Box with some other friends I ran into. It was the best view in the house, and my kid had the best time! #DadWin

It’s a great one for sure.
For whatever reason I have a hard time listening to most of the heavy stuff made after the mid 2000s.
In that period they started overproducing everything and most of the stuff just sounds… aseptic? Fake? Too perfect?
Can’t find the exact words to describe it but bottom line is I liked when music sounded good but still real

I’ve been listening to them for a while. The drummer is on point.
