Post by AtomicTom » Mon Jul 15, 2024 10:24 am

Hey everyone, did you have a chance to see the 2024 Doxa SUB 300T
Sharkhunter Clive Cussler yet?

The newest version has a 42.5mm case with aged coating, cool
unidirectional bezel, helium escape valve, black dial with compass
rose in the middle, Sellita SW200-1, rubber strap, beads of rice
bracelet and more.

Doxa’s newest SUB 300T Sharkhunter Clive Cussler

I absolutely like it better than the first version with the beige dial, but I still liked that one. This tells me that there will eventually be an orange dial, which will be the big hit for sure. Love the white hands.

I also understand that the original version was the first one to have half links in the bracelet. I suspect this one will too.

The only thing that puts me off the fake aged lume.

Edit: $3250 it’s a no from me.

It looks like it has a real lume dot on the bezel. One of the things that puts me off the 300T is the sorta lume with paint on the bezel.
If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry.

Like it, fake aged lume and price aside, which I don't like (though I could probably with the live aged lume).

Also agree regular 300T has an anemic bezel lume pip. My 300T minute hand and second hand have some of the best lume of all the watches I've owned. The rest of the 300T some of the worst lume, and the bezel pip the worst.

I saw the original beige dial version at my local AD, and it's really nice. When I first saw it in pics I thought it was kind of gimmicky, but in person it's very cool. Wasn't crazy about the beige dial, but this black looks better. Tempting, but as Hoppy said, that's a lot of $ for a Doxa.

As a newly minted Doxa Guy (and long time Cussler fan), I like this more than the first version. Like most have said though, the price is tough

I like it better than the first version, but I still think the orange dial Pro is “iconic” Clive Cussler Doxa and would been the right choice for a tribute watch.

I’d buy one if they sold a regular edition with that vintage finish on the case. I don’t care for someone s name on the dial…
