Watch recommendation?
Hi all,
I'm looking for a new watch. I know, I know, I could use my cell phone to tell time, but something about wearing a watch just makes me feel even more old-fashioned and ancient than quilting does, so I love it.
I'm pretty familiar with brands in the Q&S world, but am pretty new to watches.
What would you say is the Brother Quattro (http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/hea ... 40523.html) of the watch world? I'm looking to buy a nice, high-end watch for a good deal. Heard some good things about Invicta from this Jim Shelton or something on TV. Seems like a super deal for a Swiss watch.
Thanks for any help!
Matt

This is first and foremost a quilting and sewing forum. Please use the Off Topic icon, or state "Off Topic" in your title when starting threads that are not Q&S related. Better yet, these threads should be started in the Off Topic Forum. Before you make your inquiry, I'd also suggest you use the search function. This is a warning. Repeat offenses may result in infractions, temporary bans, or loss of posting priviledges. Have a great day.

You're right Dave.
Thing is I'm so GD passionate about this sport-thats right its a sport-of quilting that sometimes I forget what it was to be a newbie.
I appreciate the sanity check.
Welcome to QSC Matt.

There are a few dedicated watch forums such as timezone.com and watchuseek.com that have a wealth of watch related knowledge.

Re: Watch recommendation?
You guys are right. Maybe I was a bit hard on the FNG. I'm in a bit of a mood lately. I was trying to change the needle on my vintage Singer, and wound up putting a huge scratch on the polished SS needle bar. It's vintage, so replacement parts are scarce. I should have masked it off with tape first, but I was in a hurry and now I am paying the price for my haste. Warning removed, welcome to Q&S. Cheers Mate

A cape cloth should buff it right out.DMB wrote:.. and wound up putting a huge scratch on the polished SS needle bar. It's vintage, so replacement parts are scarce. I should have masked it off with tape first...
